Question:
So I have ADHD, and have been prescribed concerta. it's not really working well at all, the side effects aren't bad but it's just not effective. i have tried adderall before (it was not prescribed to me), and it felt like it did a lot better than concerta. i have nothing to hide from my psychiatrist obviously but i don't want to jeopardize his opinion of me but telling him i've tried prescription drugs illegal before. How can I make the switch? Just tell him it's not working and hope he does it?
Answers:
Tell him that the concerta isnt doing anything and then simply ask if you can be switched to adderall for a trial period in order to find what will work for you. Tell you psych that you researched alot of ADHD meds on the internet.
do research about Adderall and other ADHD drugs on www.rxlist.com and then tell ur doctor that u dont feel like the concerta is working and if he/she can prescribe sumthing else to you and what will be more beneficial in the long run
u could even talk to ur local pharmacist
good luck!
