I have PTSD. And I had from Aug. 30 ,2006. And I've seen my best friend die right in front of me. He was in a FA-18 Hornet accident. Came home and was unable to sleep. My husband David, God bless him. He convinced me to go to the VA for help. I did. I'm taking Xanax for it. I still have flash backs of the 2 events. The VA doctor told me and David that it will be a life time thing for me and my family. Currently, I'm pregnant with triplets and that has elevate the pain I seen in the past 11 mos.
Yes, it is a psychiatric diagnosis and is treatable with therapy.
