I have a great deal of trouble sleeping, does anyone else?? and what do you do to get sleep?

Question:
I've tried all of the over the counter products, and none of them work any more..

Answers:
You can also try benadryl. My dr. told me I can take up to 100mg/night. She said it is NON-addictive and will leave your system in about 8 hours. I did find, however, that it made it difficult for me to get up in the morning. Now I use melatonin. That seems to help, but if i take 3mg, I have weird dreams. i found 1.5 mg. is the best for me. Good Luck! and try to get some sleep!
I finally had to take sleeping pills (Ambien), it was so hard to sleep. It's a sleep disorder. Once you get back on tract, start going to bed at the same time everynight.
This will help you.

Hope you get well.
Lay off the caffeine, the chocolate and quit thinking and worrying about everything and everyone. Go to bed at a decent time and stay there. As corny as it may sound, some people pray themselves to sleep. Get one of those sound machines, the ones that sound like crashing waves, birds in the jungle--stuff like that. Peace of mind is the best sleep agent.
I go to bed and pretend I have inherited or won a million dollars and in my mind I shop or give money away...each night I do something different....it has worked for me for a long time.
i usually play games..any day that i have off from work i cant fall asleep

if i cant bore myself to sleep i take a benedryl..or some nyquil lol
try to workout before bed to make you tired. read a book. create a sleeping patteren. dont have sweets sugur caffiene etc. if that doesnt work have u tried nyquil? if this doesnt work go to the doctor and tell him ur a insomniac and u need med
well wen i can't sleep i usually start to read or think about my teachers and school and stuff but i can't do this nemore so i got bed at later time but yaa try reading
I have the same issue...I find that reading an hour before bed calmes me down and helps me fall asleep faster. I don't drink any liquids after 9:00 in order to keep the bathroom visits at bay. ..Stay away from late night caffeine!!
Once your body gets used to going to sleep at a set time that will help to. You need to get your body regulated...if you go to sleep at 11:00 one night...then 1:00 the other you are only confusing it.
Good luck!
When I can't sleep, I picture myself climbing the side of a mountain, or walking/running uP steps. The more strain there is, it seems to knock me out quicker. Often times, there are sssO many other things to think about that keep me uP, when I focus on just the 1 thing (like running, or climbing), that's what does it for *me*.
Good luck!
Buy some earplugs and something that will cover you eyes. You shouldn't try any over counter drugs! Because more then likely you'll have symptoms that will make you worse! Try to do some exercising(walking,push-ups,ju... jacks, shadow box) and/or anything that will get you tired. Or Read a book that you'll like. Should try reading the bible! There's allot of chapters! Or get a DVD/Video That will be so boring and long that you'll just get tired and sleep!
