I need a life makeover!?


Question:
I'm a disorganized mess and i cant seem to get it together. For the past few months i've totally been letting things slide. I"ve stopped going to the gym, i eat like a pig, i drink and get drunk, my room is a mess, i havent been doing my job well. Ive really slacked in school...i need help. I dont want a therapist either...how do i motivate myself?? HELP

Especially when some one tells themselves how terrible their life is.

A makeover. Like in one of those reality shows. You know when you call one of those specialists and they redecorate your house.

Sounds to me like you need to take a sledge hammer to that partitiion over there, and move that wall down a bit. And maybe..

Whose brain are we talking about? Never have been able to control someone else's mind. Not even when I hypnotised them.

Now there is a solution. Hypnotize yourself into being the person you really want to be. You are in control of your mind. Just take responsibilty for all your feelings, thoughts and behavior.

Focus on something you really want. Set a goal for yourself and when you plan to get it.

Everytime you do something constructive to get to your goal, you reward yourself.

So start by organizing your room. When you are done, reward yourself by going to a movie or going out with your friends or whatever.

Do this with all your activities.

Eat in moderation. Stop eating when you are no longer hungry.

Stop drinking altogether. It muddles the mind.
How many problems have you solved at the bottom of a bottle?

Alcohol disrupts the mind. I hate it when I can not use my mind effectively and clearly. That is all the motivation I need.

Start being cheerful at work. Do more than your share and every one will respect you.

Not bad therapy eh!

Listen to some good music thatll calm you, ummmm, then excercise.. Itll keep you from having an ugly body.
Start with your room and the more important things like your job and school and then move on to going to gym and drinking problem. To motivate yourself just think how much better your life will be when you get organized and healthy good luck!
Hey there

Sounds to me like you could be depressed, you need to start with your GP, he can help you to a point, if that fails, you will be referred to a psychiatrist who can start you on the appropriate meds. Once you have started your meds, it would be in your favor to actually see a therapist, they can help you sort your issues out, and just the fact that your adamant not to see one, would suggest to me there is a hell of a lot of issues you need to deal with, but is maybe scared to do so. It is scary facing your demons, but once that is done, you will feel so much better and with the meds you will be up and going in no time. Hope this helps
