How can i cheer myself up?

Question:
Im feeling pretty depressed today. Am supposed to be working on dissertation, not getting on with my husband and feel low.
Cant think of anything to cheer myself up was thinking of going to shops but there is nothing i want, could go to gym but find it boring. Friends are working and i dont want to moan at them anyway.
Any ideas?

Answers:
Look at the bright side of things. You are obviously very intelligent. You will someday, soon have you doctoral degree, right?? Not many people get nearly that far in life, so that is a great accomplishment!! As for your husband... Do you love him? Be nice to him and treat him as you would want to be treated. Go out of you way to do nice things for him and he will probably do the same for you. Hope you feel better, soon.
Just do what makes you happy, i know this isn't much help.
go to the zoo
or get your self a pet
Bake yourself a huge chocolate cake, works every time lol
How often do you feel like this? Maybe it's time to talk to your Dr. about depression.
pyjamas, chocolate, duvet and daytime telly. followed by a relaxing bath and a good tea.
Go for a walk? 20 mins of mild exercise on a sunny day like today works wonders.
longer term - eat healthily, avoid junk food and booze. Chat with friends, not moan.
Call for an escort to visit your home
definitely go outside and enjoy the sun. Nature's prozac.
watch a movie or read a book have a pampering day, or just hit the shops anyway regardless of it u want anything or not, do anything to take your mind off feeling low
all you need is change, knowing what your day will be like when u wake up can be depressing sometimes, however some people think is secure and safe but some dont. wear the clothees that you feel nice and that makes u comfortable and go out to a walk, just walk iin the streets and observe people, grab some magazines and go grab a coffee and enjoy your day. then try to tlak with ur husband when u feel really good and healthy... u'll solve everything
Well i suggest you go out for a walk somewhere quite with nobody else there to clear your thoughts.Riverbanks are good places to do that.
Then when you get back if you still feel like rubbish then get your duvet some of your favorite food and watch a DVD or video that you love. Then maybe have a little sleep and get dressed and go for another walk.
Painting and drawing are also relaxing and you can put your thoughts down on paper. You could also write about how you feel.
Going for a walk or a run might help you feel better. You could also try reading a good novel or watching an interesting film, activities that can help you "forget" about your blues. However, working on your dissertation might also be a good idea. It may be difficult for you to find the energy to do this or to concentrate at first, but later it will be easier and you will feel better for having been able to pull this off despite your low spirits. Good luck!
call the smaritians or the 700 club they are free 0800 432 0700 lovely people to talk to
