Panic attack at work?

Question:
I just started crying, shaking, and breathing uncontrollably. I feel so stupid for everyone seeing me freak out like that. I've only been working there for 2 weeks. Should I see a doctor? What should I do?

Answers:
YES you should definitely see a doctor. Panic attacks are no joke. I've dealt with many on and off medications. I didn't always have them and it took awhile to find the right meds that worked for me. And I hated the idea of taking meds but from suffering from bi-polar and depression and panic attacks so long I had to do something. Don't listen to anyone that says deal with it yourself because from experience I can tell you you can't always. Talk with your doctor.
No. Learn how to control your own mind.
Maybe drinking too much coffee?
Something triggered for you to act that way. Are you having personal problems? or might be that starting a new job is giving you an anxiety. You need to see a doctor, this is not normal. God Bless!
You were probably stressed out. Just try going to bed earlier and see if that helps.
I've had the occasional stress-induced anxiety attack (no crying or shaking, but I had a funny feeling in my chest). Sometimes eating something mint will help. Keep mint, mint or calming infusions in your desk drawer (I say infusion because they are not technically teas). If you feel an attack coming on, have something with mint or brew your infusion. Both mint and chamomile have calming effects. Many health food stores will have blends of infusion bags that indicate they're for stress relief.

If that doesn't help, see a doctor.
