What is the a "quiet" job for a 19 year old with many different mental problems?

Question:
My daughter is bipolar, has borderline personality disorder, OCD, etc. SHe has actually held a full time job as a kennel worker for 1 year but it is getting to be too much for her. She cries about having to go to work and is miserable because it causes to much stimulus. Any suggestions?

Answers:
office work is a better idea. try and get her a job in bookkeeping or a library.
It sounds like the more important issue is that she is not being properly treated for her disorders. It may be time to adjust her medication so that she can handle things better.
Have you ever considered a paper route? Or perhaps working at your local library?
I worked in a school with developmentally disabled people before who were high functioning and the program I worked in was actually to teach them how to become as independent as possible. Some were working in factories for a township newspaper inserting the local ads that come with the paper. That may be too loud and too hectic a pace for her. Other people were working in a nursery which would be a little calmer and quiet for her, where she wouldn't be around too many people and just more or less dealing with the plants. Other places hire people to water all the plants in their office buildings where she wouldn't be interacting with a lot of people and could more or less go at her own pace.
HHHMmmmm....A quiet job. What about working outdoors? Like some grounds keeping at a park? How about making a
"work wanted" flier, explaining the type of work environment and work interests your looking to do? Post them on bulletin boards all over town with your information and phone number. What about volunteering one on one at a retirement home? Dog sitting or walking? Working at a movie theater? Does your town have a local library? I hope I've been helpful. Good luck
How about an office job in the File Room or the Mail Room. In our office the Mail Room people have their own dept. and only need to deal with the other Mail people and the postage machines normally except they need to pick up and deliver the mail to the various depts.

The Mail people are also responsible for restocking the kitchen supplies, but that's all there is so she would have minimal exposure to others and it would be very sedate when she does. No Stress!
For the long term, maybe something outside in nature, like a forest ranger... where she would have limited contact with people and mainly be in a peaceful environment. Have you read the book "The Highly Sensitive Person's Survival Guide" by Ted Zeff? I haven't yet, but intend to.
