Answers:
Bipolar Disorder is clinical depression. There are different forms and different degrees of clinical depression. Depending on your symptoms and the way you deal with life will depend on which form of clinical depression you have. Clinical Depression is not curable. Although there are different things you can do in order to make it easier with clinical depression there is no way to get rid of it. Through counseling, medication and a support system of friends and family it is easier to deal with. Surrounding you with the people that love and care about you is the best thing you can do when you have clinical depression. Being able to trust people with your feelings and thoughts can really be helpful for you in overcoming your negative feelings at the time. Don't ever say it would be easier to have Bipolar because it is nothing you ever want to wish upon yourself. Going to a therapist and finding out ways that you can deal with clinical depression is the best route to take. Until you get educated and no what works it can not only be a miserable way for you to live but for the people that live in your life too.
No i do not believe that it can..I believe that those are two differet things.
yeah it probably can but bipolar disorder is usually genetic
i don't believe so.....
you NEED to go to the doctors and ask them about it. you dont even need to do that, you can call the hospital and ask them about it by phone.
A person is born with Bipolar disorder. Normally, you don't know you even have until later in life. If you are concerned about this, you should see your doctor. Good luck, and I hope for the best.
Technically, depression and bipolar disorder are two separate things. However, I wouldn't be surprised to find that one can influence the other. But it would seem more logical to have bipolar disorder make someone become depressed than the other way around.
ya its actually a type of depression were u also have bipolar disorder
No. Although the depression feels the same with both the two diseases are not connected.
not if your depression is addressed and treatment started. bipolar disorder is different from depression it's apples and oranges
Many psychological issues lead to a higher tendency to receive another. I don't doubt that clinical depression correlates with bipolar disorder.
Often people are diagnosed with depression before it becoes apparent that they are actally bipolar.
Depression cannot turn into bipolar disorder, at least, not that I am aware of.
What clinical depression isn't bad enough?

You want something worse. Or maybe you feel like you would like to have the highs as well as the lows, just so you have fun occasionally?

If you find out where you can order these diseases can you let me know? I'd like to close that operation down. I think they are illegal.

I can only assume that since you know what to call what you have, you are taking pills for it.

I hope you are also seeing a therapist. A therapist can train you to think differently about things like that and hopefully get you off the pills. They are supposed be temporary.

Hope is a good thing. You can start by looking forward to something useful. Being a disease is a real downer. Oh! sorry you already are depressed.

In any event. If I have made you laugh or made you angry, while you were feeling that did you remember to feel depressed?

Do you see a method here in my madness?
Read about it.

Bipolar disorder is sometimes misdiagnosed as clinical depression. This happens because usually in the beginning, the only worrying and unpleasant aspects come during the depressive periods, and the manic periods are viewed as just periods of increased self confidence.

Traditionally, manic periods are characterized by excessive shopping sprees and extreme risk-taking behavior, but this is not always the case.

Part of what makes bipolar disorder so dangerous is that when it is confused with monopolar depression, the antidepressants used to treat it can make the symptoms much, much worse. In addition, with bipolar, antidepressants don't always help that much, leaving the individual feeling absolutely awful and frequently self-medicating with drugs and alcohol.

Bipolar is thought to be a hereditary condition. Is anyone in your family bipolar?

If you feel that you may have bipolar disorder, please share your thoughts with your doctor or mental health specialist.

If you are feeling so low that you wish you had bipolar disorder, then the best that I can say is that I'm so sorry and you are not alone, even if you feel alone.

I do not expect it to make you feel better when I tell you that clinical depression is the better of two terrible alternatives, but I do believe that to be the truth.

Do your family and friends a favor: if you are diagnosed with bipolar disorder, please take the medications prescribed for you and do not stop taking it, even if you feel better or decide you hate the medicine.

Hello "War..." most mental illnesses symptoms overlap. Whether is anxiety, panic attacks, depression, anxiety, bipolar, schizophrenia. They usually include lack of concentration and energy, feelings of worthlessness. The cause is the same: an imbalance in brain neurotrasmiters. The spiritual explanation is that the person has 1 or more entities attached to his aura. However, I don´t think you will become bi-polar. In Bi-polar disorder the person has an up and a down mood. In the case of depression the person is only in the down mood, he doesn´t have ups. It is important that you get therapy and proper treatment. Cymbalta is excellent for depression. Acupuncture cures depression and yoga is excellent because the breathing techniques you learn there. I am a depression sufferer. One can get out from depression. Good luck! Argentox2@yahoo.com
If you have clinical depression, then it is natural you want to be joyful more often and could perhaps wish to have bipolar. But let me encourage you by telling you being bi-polar is not better than having depression. First of all, manic depression (bi-polar) is just as horrible because you can hardly control your emotions and people can do really irrational things when they are manic as well. Your temper can flare and instead of being emotion-less (possibly the feeling when depressed) you are TOO full of emotion and the fall of coming off that manic puts you into an even DEEPER depression.
So, please, work on getting better by having someone to talk to regularly and I would suggest finding something that helps you feel more peace. Because wishing for another symptom of illness is not the answer.
Grass isn't always greener on the other side. :)
Clinical depression a.k.a. Major Depressive Disorder a.k.a. Unipolar disorder cannot "turn into" Bipolar disorder. BUT Bipolar II disorder can be misdiagnosed as unipolar depression for years before it is correctly identified. This can happen when the person is severely depressed for a long period and goes through many failed medication trials. The person might even experience brief periods, perhaps a day or two, of hypomania following a med change, which the psychiatrist never sees. But the depression quickly returns, often worse than before.

As for clinical depression not being curable, many people "recover" from clinical depression with the right treatment, which usually includes medication, therapy and lifestyle changes, i.e. cognitive therapy. There is always a chance that another bout of depression will occur, but that is why the therapy and lifestyle changes are essential. The lifestyle changes might consist of learning how to reduce your stress or deal with anxiety. Some people have to take meds for the rest of their life. Some are able to be weaned off meds after a safe period of depression free living.

Clinical depression is rarely, if ever, treated successfully with medication alone.
It can especially if you have a family history of bipolar disorder. Some people may have one or more major depressive episodes before they experience a manic, hypomanic or mixed episode.
