Am I depressed?

Question:
I am always shy around people but I was never like that when I was little. I have a very low esteem and I feel like I always say the wrong thing to people. I have trouble sleeping at night and wake up frequently. My Dad is always on business trips and my mom never listens. Everytime I ask my mom something she just ignores me and walks away. None of my family members live here and I really dont want to talk to them. I dont have many friends and there are some nights that i feel like commiting suicide. I am 14 years old and I dont know what to do! Please help me! I dont want to live like this anymore!

Answers:
Talk to a counselor but I will tell you the teen aged years are kind of hard, lots of ups and downs emotionally...you'll make it!
Talk to someone you trust, maybe a school teacher. they will be able to help you.
i think you should spend a day where yuo do whatever you want to do, get whatever you want to get , adn have fun. i was once in a situation like this but i started to do things i wanted to be done and its made me alot happier.
yes hun you are depressed. but you can get help there is a number in front of the phonebook. it is 1-800-suicide. they have councelor there who will talk to you and help you through the tough times
I am a 43 year old Mom, we sometimes get caught up in things and don't realize that you need us. Pull your Mom aside and tell her how you feel. I have a 15 year old daughter and she has felt like you do. Tell your mom you need to get a therapist now before it is to late. If you have to let her read this. I took my daughter to intake at a hospital. There are several thing that can cause your feelings. Or it just may be you are having thyroid problem, which can cause depression. Get help now before it is to late.
I think you may be depressed. I should know because I'm depressed 14 year old. Don't commit suicide. You need to make a way to contact your dad or mom, even if its through a letter or email. You need to tell them that you feel suicidal, depressed, and want to see a psychiatrist. I told my parents that I feel depressed and suicidal and they actually listened. Tell your parents in any way possible and get treated for it as soon as possible. Don't wait or commit suicide.
You should talk to a teacher or councelor at your school! Or if you can't wait until school starts back up...maybe try talking to one of your friends parents! Talk to someone close to you that can help you get the help you need! Even if it is to help you get your mother to wake up and learn that you are having trouble! Good Luck!
i know how you feel
i have the same problem
sorry that i can't help you :(
but here's my email if you need someone to talk to ---> california_klutz@yahoo.com
Sounds to me like you just need some love and attention. Someone to listen, someone to care.

There have been moments in my life where I give thanks that I was alive to witness or experience such magic.

A gratitude journal is a wonderful idea. Every day, write down five things that you were grateful for. Here is somethings to start you off...

I can see.
I can walk.
I can talk.
I can type.
I can think.
I can feel.
I can digest food.
I can hear.
I can have a hot shower. (just by turning on a tap, how cool is that?)
I have food to eat.
I have access to a computer.
I can....(you fill in the blanks)

Buy a special book to write your thanks in.
Have FUN.
There is much to celebrate.
Lot of people who are teenagers sometimes go through this.Sometimes it has to do with your hormone change and other changes in your body.I remember when I was a teenager I use to feel everything is wrong with me.Try not to over analyze anything, say what you think is right dont think you ll say the wrong thing.Even though your dad is on business trips.Call him and tell him you are feeling really depressed. If you think its something you dont want to tell him , then you must talk to someone like a school counselor who can tell you how to better handle a situation.Develop a hobby, keep yourself busy as much as you can.Dont ever again think of commiting suicide.
