You MUST give yourself more sleep! Also try vigorous exercise in the morning. That will help with sleeping better as well.
Otherwise, there is always Ambien.
Sounds like you dont enjoy whatever you do, its not motivating for you, simply try and have a shower or a coffee if you have time, relax and you wont feel drowsy or its the end of the world when you do work.
You need to have a sleep study done. Seriously, if you've gotten 6 hours of sleep, and you feel like you say you do, then there's a reason why your body's not benefitting from that sleep. Drowsiness, lack of concentration, lack of motivation, those are all signs of a sleep disorder, like sleep apnea...which can happen to anyone. Can't hurt to rule it out if nothing else.
You probably want to have it checked out by a doctor if this has been an ongoing problem that disrupts your life. They may recommend a sleep study. It is sounding like your cycle is off and you are forced to get up early which is depriving you of sleep that you need.
Firstly, it sounds like you aren't getting enough sleep. Most people need about 6 - 8 hours of sleep. Some need 8 - 10 hours of sleep. Your body is unready to function because of a lack of sleep, most likely. I would suggest getting to bed earlier, even if its just an hour to start, and also starting each morning with jumping right into the shower, and eating a healthy breakfast. Those habits are not only good for you, but they will help to give you energy and invigorate you for the day. Good luck!
it sounds to me like your job isn't fufilling your needs... you should investigate and see what makes you happy and use that as a guide.. i used to have the same problems and when i followed what my heart had been telling me the problems vanished ... now most days feel like a vacation... i became a massage therapist... but only you know what can make you happy... you can do anything ... it's your life... enjoy it!!
It is this thing called stress. You just said yourself that you are over working yourself, and staying up til 1 due to piles of work is also called being a workaholic. Sometimes, we just have to be blunt. No need for a sleep study, or sleeping pills when you have no issue sleeping. You are a workaholic and you are pushing yourself beyond your means.
Someone once said that if you ever feel like not waking up and going to work, it is time for a new job. Obviously that is an extreme, but the basis stands. See, your life should be about being happy, you should wake up and be happy to be alive. Which you aren't... it is time to really settle down, 6 hours isn't necessarily enough sleep, some people need 8-12.
You are unhappy, and you are probably putting your job at jeopardy, you say you can barely concentrate. Their is no point to put yourself through this, it is time for a vacation and a new job. Money and moving up the corporate ladder are little things compared to your happiness.
Eventually if you go by a strict schedule you should be waking up around the same time no matter what. I am a college student and in the summer time when i can actually sleep in, I still get up early because now I am set on waking up on a certain time no matter what, I just can not change that. To help you stay awake though you can try engery drinks throughout the day or coffee. I really do not like coffee but I found out this awesome little coffee shop by my university that sells drinks called Java Icers they are coffee like drinks with any topping you want like carmel or mocha and lots of whipped cream, they are the best to stay awake. I know other coffee places sell them and they really do not taste that strong of coffee you could try it. Another way is to have a balanced diet, yeah you probably hear that all the time but it actually works if you eat right you will sleep better and be more engergized throughout the day.
