Mentally or Physically improve? I Choose Mentally now how do I begin please read and help me.?
Question:
Well,I've been wanting to improve.I'm spending all my summer at home might as well do something about it.So,I've been wanting to
improve both ways,'physically and mentally'.Now,I know I said I chose mentally improvement. But that's just because when I narrow it down to physical improvements it lead me to silly things such as 'wanting a bigger butt,or having even skin tone'.So,I rather focus on something that will lead me to a prepare, independent adults. (I'm 16).
Now,there's the problem!I want to improve a lot for instance,I want better grammar, vocabulary.i NEED to improve in math because I have dsycalculia and I hardly know my multiplications.Although with that,I want to be able to have communications and just be a well intelligent person. But,don't know where to begin,I don't want to be left behind.I'm honestly not like the majority of teenagers out there,so why can't i improve in this certain things i want so bad.I'm quite isolated and parents/tutor ..do not suggest.
Any advice
Answers:
Well writing poetry helped me increase my vocabulary alot, if you like to write maybe you can just practice writing short stories or poems or even mini essays about 1-2 paragraphs long using words you'd normally never use or heard of and the best place to find them is in a dictionary, also reading books with alot of heightened vocabulary is a plus, a book with alot of imagery and description is likely to have lots of different word choices
I'm horrible in math too, but I'm always forcing myself to practice, and if I cant learn it on my own I seek help from a tutor, and thats the only thing I would really recommend because some things are better when explained, but you already sound like an intellectual individual if your trying to better yourself your showing alot of wisdom by acknowledging the importance of furthering your education/knowledge
Is there a councilor at school or teacher to be your mentor? Mentors are a great way to "break though". Sounds like you have the right mindset, but need someone to talk to. Someone that will encourage and challenge you.
Out son has allot of learning problems. However, we have found that as we keep encouraging him without ignoring his issues, he continues to make great strides while remaining positive.
Just wanting to be better is most of the battle. I know you'll succeed!
