Ativan for Anxiety?
Question:
Answers:
Ativan 0.25 is really a teeny, tiny dose. I don't know that it would help much unless you are really small. But usually, as another person said, it works in about 25 - 40 min when you're taking the proper dose. It's okay to take occasionally for really bad anxiety that doesn't allow you to function with your life.
In general. it would be best if you could learn to cope with it through exercise, relaxtion or breathing techniques, or yoga or some other type of meditation. Symptoms always have a meaning so just medicating them away doesn't make them GO AWAY. Plus Ativan can be addictive, you really shouldn't drink or drive while taking it.
u should ask ur doctor. Resaerch it. It may only take a few inutes. i just emailed u something please check ur email. Oh and dont drink alchohol.
not sure but i think you can cure anxiety on your own. I used to have a lot of anxiety attacks.. and i didn't go on any medicine. I went to counseling and it helped me a lot. not suggesting anything but you should ask a doctor. best of luck to you.
Ativan usually hits your system within 30 minutes. .5 mg is a very, very low dosage. When my anxiety was at its worse, I was taking 2mg 3x a day. Now I take 1 mg 3x a day. It usually lasts 6-7 hours for me. Keep in touch with your doctor about all of this, ok?
I stay away from alcohol. The two don't mix well.
Anxiety is a common trait in my family so I know a lot on this subject. It should take about a week, at least, to kick in. You won't feel in right away, but sooner or later you will feel it's effects. My mom was put on medications for anxiety, and she is a lot better, but she gave it some time, and was patient. I'd say if you don't notice anything between 2-3 weeks you might need to give you Physician a call.
It should work pretty fast within 20 minutes or so.It usually lasts from 4-6 hrs but these can be very addictive so try not to take often.
As for drinking DO NOt DRINK while using these.Very dangerous!!You can stop breathing. Wait a few days jsut to be on the safe side.
