Cymbalta users, would you recommend this?

Question:

I am currently coming off Effexor XR, and after the tapering has quit, my doctor has prescribed Cymbalta. If you take it, would you recommend this, or if you have gone off of it, why, and what happened. I am very nervous about starting a new one because the withdrawal has been so bad. I have clinical depression and anxiety attacks.

The withdrawal from Cymbalta is brutal no matter how slowly you ween off.

I decided in May that I no longer wanted to take Cymbalta because it didn't seem to be working for me anymore. I began weening off in the beginning of May. I just finished up a couple of weeks ago.

Our clinic prescribes Cymbalta over Effexor, becuase Cymbalta has less side-effects than Effexor. Just another note, Cymbalta was just approved for GAD (generalized anxiety disorder) which would make a great choice of medication.
