Why do most anti-depressants mess with your libido? How? I don't understand? I have anxiety issues, but take Ativan when I have attacks and feel panic attacks coming on. I want to take something a lil more perm., but I don't want the sexual side effects. I have taken Effexor before, and loved it, but I remember taking a while climaxing due to the medication. Why does it do this?
Answers:
All of the SSRI medications do this (i.e. effexor, prozac, paxil, etc.). I cant answer the why, just the fact that they do.
Call your doctor and ask him about Wellbutrin of all the antidepressants it is the one with the least amount of sexual side effects.
I dont know whay but when I was taking it I had very little interest in having sex with my gf. It was like I didnt care wether we did it or not.
because it takes the blood from spare parts of your body to nourish the parts that the medication is effecting!
your sex drive will return if you stop taking meds, though side effects may occur...
ask your Dr. if there are any other alternatives to this medication!
