Weird mental problem? am i going crazy?


Question:
i read about panic attacks somewere and now ever since i read that i always think about my breathiing and i start to breathe hard and out of breath but whenever im not thinking about it i dont do it like typing this out right now but its hard NOT to think about it how can i stop this?

It's kind of like the people who read medical journals and start to have the symptoms of a horrid disease. Your'e makin' yourself hyperventilate and panicky. If your'e really busy doin' something, it doesn't happen, right? Just when your lying in bed or watching a movie or something, right? If you have the feeling of over breathing, do this...take a deep breath, hold it to slow count of four, then slowly release. Do it for a minute. When you over breathe, your'e really taking in too much oxygen. Your heart will race, you may feel dizzy, and you might feel like your'e going to lose your mind or die. Be rest assured, you won't!!
The power of suggestion... stop thinking about it before you get sick.
you arnt going crazy. but it is a serious situation that needs treatment. i get panic attacks and nervous breakdowns alot. what you need to do is talk to your doctor. and work on breathing excersizes. so when you have a panic attack you will have a way to calm down your breathing. Talk to your doctor there are meds they can give you to help with this anxiety problem. like prothonolol. it slows down your heart rate, so that you are not as panicky as you would be. klonopin also helps with anxiety. these panic attackjs can mostly come from a great deal of stress. so try not to put alot of stress on yourself. get enough sleep, contol your breathing, talk to your doctor, and reduce stress. hope this helps

When will it stop?

When you have a panic attack your breathing is shallow and you tend to hyperventilate.

If you take a deep breath every so often you tend to be more calm. It has a calming effect.

So instead of focusing on your breathing, focus on something else. Like an earlobe, the end of your nose, or the nail on your big toe.

Crack a joke every time you feel yourself thinking about your breath. Or just laugh.

You have to be more relaxed about relaxing.
