Xanix is a dangerous drug that has been known, because of it's affects, to be the cause of death in some. It is extremely addictive and should only be taken as NEEDED. Most doctors do not and will not give Xanix and if they do, it is just for short periods of time. It has many side affects and you should call your pharmacist and talk to him about symptoms and if you should ask your doctor for another drug. I take and have been taking Xanix for over ten years. I take a half .05 mg. twice a week. The Xanix is good for me to let me get two good night's sleep a week. Many doctors have refused to give me the drug until they have spoke to my other doctors and made sure I was not an addictive personality, pill popper, nor drug abuser. Be extremely careful. Xanix is a life saver for me and many others. Take it with caution. You may have to take fifteen or twenty variations of the medication you need to find the right one to work for you. You must not give up and tell your pharmacist any problems with meds.
Side effects to XANAX Tablets, if they occur, are generally observed at the beginning of therapy and usually disappear upon continued medication. In the usual patient, the most frequent side effects are likely to be an extension of the pharmacological activity of alprazolam, eg, drowsiness or light-headedness.
There are always text book answers. you can search web md, etc but nobody mentions dehydration. But everybody reacts differently. In my experience the only real side effects were a bit of relief, and later or after sleeping a feeling like a bit of a hangover, unless you forget to drink, and depends how long you have been taking it. Not to mention dependancy issues, or seizures if you've been taking it quite awhile and quit abrubtly
