Anti-Anxiety Meds?

It's different for everyone. Let the prescribing doctor know about your concerns. They can walk you through the potential outcomes. Keep a log of how you feel now, and how you feel on the new meds. It may take a while for the meds to work, and it may take trying several different meds before you find ones that work for you. I recommend not giving up ona drug in the first few weeks, and keeping the journal of the effects and talking in detail with your doctor about it.
Well, every person's body chemistry is different, but Buspar helped me with my Generalized Anxiety Disorder.
But, you should always check with your doctor to see which one would be be best for you, if you think that would be your option. For some people, they can help or sometimes they may just trigger more anxiety so to play it safely...check with your doctor and see if they can put you on a low dose until you see if it works for your body.
I have had experience with Paxil, fluoxetine, and wellbutrin. I don't know whether they made a difference or as the feelings were still there. I've quit taking anything like that and prefer to take the B vitamins, minerals and calcium. Sometimes they help sometimes they just accentuate the problem.
Prozac is what I use (15 years now) Do not use Xanax-Valium-etc... you'll have a nasty drug hangover for days! I lost 16 lbs on the Prozac..I love my Prozac world!
See anxiety treatments, at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris... on page 6, and keep the anxiolytics in the arsenal, as a last resort, if they prove ineffective, after a good tryout of, say, 6 weeks (unlikely). Less side effects, no withdrawal problems, and lower cost.
