This is important to you. I have to give you information which is private. But I will do so because there are other people like you. I am an alcoholic ( reformed) who was in a hospital for alcoholics twice. What you say waking up in the morning and having forgotten what happened is called a 'blackout'. When you stop drinking you won't have these. If you stop drinking you won't do damage to your liver. You will see many benefits in many respects, mentally and physically. While I was drinking I was warned a lot about my liver. Nobody mentioned my kidneys. I am now 73 and my kidneys are severely damaged because of the alcohol. The filters in them are damaged so garbage which should be in my urine and be expelled are now still in my body. Don't look for all the immediate benefits. If you have seen somebody live and die with cirrhosis of the liver you would never drink again unless you really need it. Don't worry about your "girls or friends' at the weekend. They are not really friends otherwise they would understand. Would it not be nicer to be with your boyfriend than getting drunk? If you have private questions of any kind you can look up my profile and see you can contact me by email.
I believe from past experiences its best to never drink. I use to drink every weekend. I stopped completely and now i have more energy than ever !
When you drink you become dehyrated. The alcohol literally absorbs the electrolytes, and fluid in your body.
If you stopped drinking entirely, nothing would happen, other than you wouldnt have hangovers, and could rememember what you did the night before.
i gave up drinking 2 1/2 years ago due to not being able to rember what i did going out to much and partying alot
it was hard my first month i felt left out ad my friend didnt really wnt to hang with me cause i didnt drink anymore an d what not
but something must be making you think its time for a change and i say why not try it out give yourself time to see how life is without the booze
i am not against people drinking just those who cant handle their intake i hope that makes sense
You would probably feel a hell'va lot
better. If you have an adiction you will
probably suffer some withdrawal symptons
other than that, you'll be a happier person.
Of course it's OK to never drink. There are recovering alcoholics and tea-totalers who never drink all the time.
But it's also OK to limit the amount that you do drink .You could drink every single day of your life and never suffer an adverse effect if you don't get drunk. In fact, it's highly encouraged to drink one glass of red-wine daily for its strong antioxidants; it helps everything from your cardio-vascular system to your skin (and peace of mind!). There are other studies that show one beer a day to be beneficial. If you limited yourself to a few (2-3) drinks on the weekends and nights out, you really wouldn't have a problem.
I rarely drink more than one or two when I go out, if at all. I prefer to be the designated driver, and then I know, 100%, that I will not be the cause of a drunk-driving accident. I do allow myself the occassional wild night, but those are few and far between, and always with another DD.
You and your body will feel much better.
