Pnigophobia or Pnigerophobia- Fear of choking of being smothered.
It sounds like you could be clusterphobic or you may just have a fear of being suffocated. I used to feel like you when my nose was plugged up and this is the truth I felt as if I were being suffocated and I hated the feeling. Thank goodness that at nineteen someone introduced me to Dristan Nasal Spray. Good Luck
This might not be "up your alley", but you might be carrying over a traumatic experience from a last life. You talk about two different experiences though. One is of fire, second drowning. Both do indicate trauma of not be able to breathe. Looking at your question again.strangling. So maybe you have had 3 traumatic deaths.
For reality purposes, concentrating your thoughts on death scenarios is classic schizophrenia. AND it is scenarios.
What I read though is you put in parenthesis is how being on fire was not about burning to death, but losing oxygen.
Sweetie, this life is what you make of it. Avoid running into a fire, don't swim into the deep end, definitely do not involve yourself with someone who likes auto erotica. That should buffer against the real threats.
Lastly, have you considered it might be psychically connected?
