Can drinking alcohol whilst on OLANZAPINE make you go mad?

Question:

I would assume you already have some mental health issues if you are already taking olanzapine, alcohol in any quantity is thus not a good idea anyway.

Olanzapine can also occasionally be toxic to the liver, so there may be additional risk for those with a past history of alcohol abuse.

Finally given the primary CNS effects of olanzapine, caution should be used when it is taken in combination with other centrally acting medicines and alcohol.
if you're on OLANZAPINE, you're already mad.
Only if there's a man around !!
It won't make you go mad, it will probably cause your liver to shut down, and then you would either have to get a liver transplant, or take "The Final Voyage". I would strongly advise against using alcohol with this medication.
the instructions say not to drink alcohol. that is because olanzapine itself makes u drowsy and alcohol will increase the effect. please dont do it.
If the drug information sheet in with your Olanzapine says don't drink alcohol whilst on this medication don't do it.
Many drugs react badly with alcohol going mad isn't badly, dead is badly
go mad no. cause the medication or the alcohol to have a greator impact on you yes.
care should be taken when taking any medications and then drinking alcohol . . none of the mixing would cause a person to be mad . drunk maybe but mad as i think of it as a person who is not in touch with the real world from that moment on i dont think so .
No.As olanzapine is highly sedating though, combining it with alcohol is not advised, and potentially dangerous. If you're on a very low dose of this drug, then it may be OK to have the odd drink now and again, otherwise,I would stay well clear if I were you.
that depends on how much you drink and if you are on 10mg or 20. you shouldnt drink too much as one of the side effects is drozyness and the main side effect is weight gain.so if you drink you wont be helping your weight youll end up like the gale of a house.drink with olanzapine wont make you mad but it might produce other side affects
Hi, it isn't exactly advisable to drink on any such medication - I take aripirazole which is the same class of meds (as well as other meds for bipolar) and if I drink I get tipsy very very quickly. Can interfere with meds so not advisable!
