Why do I do this?

You are sabotaging yourself from being happy. Take some time to really think about this question - Do you want to be happy? Surprisingly, people answer no.. because happiness is so different from what they are used to that it scares them.
Also, you need to have some confidence in yourself. You should try repeating positive affirmations to yourself everyday - I deserve good things to happen to me. I worked hard for my success. I am a great person. I am special.
I know it's easier said than done (and sounds corny), but if you practice saying these everyday, you start to believe it eventually.
is called being insecure.. I have the same problem... you just need to smile look in the mirror everyday and love what you see... once you stop being insecure everything will fall into place... :)
Well, the best thing I can say is that things are hardly ever as bad it may seem. I've been through the same type of situation in my mind many, many times, and when I've gotten past the situation and looked back at it afterward, I saw that it really wasn't a bad thing at all.
I've had crushes, been in love, and have felt TOTALLY insecure about myself in most of those situations. LOL! It's a normal part of growing up... and from the way you're describing your question, I'm willing to bet you're in your teens. It's a very normal and awkward time for most people going through that stage of life. some people just hide their insecurity better ;-)
deb, you need to realize everyone has moments of self doubt. It seems you suffer from really low self esteem and sad to say, its not something that can be changed easily>Might I suggest you get some counselling to help get to the root of your isses, if that's not the route you'd like to take there are many self help books on the market these days. The one piece of advice that comes to mind is to try and eliminate all the negative thoughts you have and try and replace them with positive ones... easier said than done, I know!Blessings!
