PND/Clinical Depression - Anyone got any experiences of Imipramine?
I've been prescribed 150mg Impipramine, after i failed to see any change in four months on Citalopram.
Has anyone had any experience of this AD? Just hearing from one person would really reassure me.
Thanks x
Answers:
Yes, my friend is on Impipramine and it's working really well for her. I myself am on 20mg citalopram which is helping me. But not everyone responds to citalopram, obviously.
Hope this reassures you,
Dan
Impipramine helps after 2 - 3 months. Encourage you to read the book:
"The Mindful Way through Depression" by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn PhD. which has really helped me a great deal.

Why do so frequent general public pretend to be Bipolar?
Why are you jumping to a tricyclic? Not that doing so is bad. It just isn't all that common until a number of SSRIs, an SNRI, and perhaps Wellbutrin are tried.
On the plus side, there's growing research that the tricyclics may be more effective than the second generation ADs. Side effects tend to be greater, but if you don't get any, you might be on your way to an effective solution.

Medicine to calm my wife's temper..?
I take Wellbutrin for depression. Seroquel gave me horrible nightmares and that's what I take Imipramine for. It really works. My dreams have improved dramatically and no more nightmares. I had dreams of wild dogs eating my friends and other similar nightmares before I took Imipramine. Then I went off of it for about a year and the nightmares returned. I'm convinced that Imipramine cures nightmares. Good Luck!
