What if you throw your shoulders back, face the day and do the best you can?

Sounds like a good philosophy, but you also should throw in a well-balanced diet and physical activity (walking, gardening, going to the gym). For some reason, I find physical activity relaxes the brain. Maybe because I can carry on imaginary conversations and resolve to resolve issues.
It would be wonderful if it was that easy. I know you have heard the expression "a monkey on your back". Depression and other mental illnesses can be compared to a "gorilla on your back". It sometimes is impossible to "shake it off". When faced with depression and anxiety it can be difficult for the patient to "face the day". Fortunately, with medication and counseling this burden can be removed. best wishes
Then I just end up more depressed cos its generally a n other c r a p p y day & my expectations have come to nothing :-(
Outstanding recommendation!
Everything will fall into place, and I will feel exhilarated at the end of the day!
my personal motto: as long as u keep trying, u can never be a failure. meaning, keep it up, whatever maybe the problem, or if life always seems too daunting/depressing/miserable. even sucessful/positive/going ur way...if u need help seek it out, and dont be afraid to ask for it. sometimes that is the most difficult, but most crucial step. i think ur motto is a great one, and resounds with trying.
Oh, that sounds like fine advice all right.
Too bad it is not always that easy, isn't it?
If you are just going through a "blue funk" or a "bad patch" in life, positive thoughts can do wonders for bringing you out of the doldrums.
But if you are deep into the throwes of a clinical severe depression, that advice will accomplish little or nothing.
If a severe depression is in progress, the best advice is to go get help ASAP!
