i have the same problem. like, i look back on things i said or did and i just feel really guilty or stupid. certain thoughts literally make me cringe. i was diagnosed with depression and since ive been on meds and talking to my doctor, ive gotten better at dealing with these thoughts. for me, talking to someone who i know wont judge me or tell anyone else really helps.
You could either be depressed or just experiencing normal, situational depression-like thoughts. I would suggest seeing a therapist, priest, psychologist, etc., just to try to figure out if this is normal (based on more information about your situation) or if you may need some kind of therapy. Feel better soon!
I think this happens to everyone once in awhile. It is very easy to look back on the past and only see the good things and to think that life was so much better then. It is human nature to do this . I am sure there was some crappy stuff that happened in the past too that you just aren't focusing on.
If you take notice of what is good in your life right now as opposed to what isn't, that may help you. In 5 years when you look back on today, you don't want to be thinking about how you wasted this time being sad and thinking about the past.
Remember that you can't go back, you can only go forward. You can choose to make the most of the present and the future and still reflect fondly on the past.
If you have these feelings more than once in awhile though, you may want to talk to someone as it may a symptom of depression.
Good luck and keep your chin up!
Hey, it sounds like you might be depressed. It's normal to think about the past and happy times, but if you are not feeling any happiness now, then you may need to talk to someone-maybe a Dr. depending on how bad you feel and how often. Good friends and family can help, too. You need to make some new happy memories.
i use to feel that way untill i got help. i was depressed at allthe things i use to do . i use to think that every thing i did was useless, have you got checked out for depression. um think positive that always helps.
