RiTALiN ABUSE?
Question:
Answers:
Yes, Concerta is the same drug as Ritalin, methylphenidate. Yes, you can abuse Concerta just like you would Ritalin.
How? Well, stimulant medications can get both the ADHD and the non-ADHD person high. It's prescription speed. A single does isn't going to get a person high though, but a single dose up the nose or a couple more pills than prescribed? Sure will! Since Concerta is sustained release, you have to rip off the coating before crushing the pill into powder. It's very easy to do.
Concerta like all other stimulant medications is a popular 'street drug' and can be bought and sold without a 'script on most college campuses, although children with ADHD often begin selling or sharing their medications in junior high and high school, so it's easy to find there too. It's all very illegal of course, and I am in no way endorsing this behavoir, simply acknowledging that Concerta can be a recreational drug.
HAPPY PILLS!
