I want meds...?
Question:
Answers:
I was exactly the same, I wa on prozac for 8 months, evry couple of months they had to ncrease the dosage bc it wsatn working any more. then i tried to kill myself a few times (which obviously did not work) and i was in hospital for a few days, they changed my meds which just made me worse. So I finally decided not to take meds at all and just try to get out of myself a bit and now im mostly fine.
Therfore as toyu can see, meds are not always the answer. I also went to a therapist for a year but she didnt help much.
However if yu find a peroffesional that you feel you can trust and talk to then good for you. Otherwise try to get out more and try to focus on other things besidde yoursefl.
\Thats what helped me the most
Good Luck
See another doctor and they will help you get your life back on track.
you should be on anti-anxiety and anti-depression meds. why dont you just go to another doc if this one is not doing anything for you.
Meds aren't necessarily the answer, but therapy is. Find a psychologist in your area.
Your feelings can be overcome and changed, you must give your healing time and energy, though.
The right anti-depressant for you is something only your doctor can know, but I think the best meds for you would be meds for severe depression such as lithium .
Wish you the best :Corbyn
you should be on some kind of SSRI (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor)like Prozac or Zoloft
If your doc isn't listening to you, it's time to get a new doc. These are very serious issues & no one online can tell you what meds you need to be on.
Please get help!
NOTE: Lithium is NOT for severe depression, it is a mood stabilizer used for Bipolar disorder. In fact, Lithium is better for manic episodes and not depressive episodes.
It sounds like you are going to need a combination of medications, one for anxiety and one for depression, as well as one that helps control impulsive behavior (for the self mulitation). Drugs such as lexapro and effexor and/or xanax and Klonopin would do. Additionally, they might consider giving you an anti-pyschotic like Seroquel or Risperdal because they are effective in reducing anxiety.
A doctor should help you get the best combination.
You have told your doctor that you are suicidal and he hasn't done anything?! If you feel this way you need to go to the hospital... Go now! I not only had suicidal thoughts... I actually attempted... I almost lost my life the last time! I am now happy, confident, vibrant, and the spirit my friends look for when they are down... Life can be good and happy ( I have found this out personally) but you most likely need more than just some pills... You need an evaluation... You will need to be determined and ready to face alot of hard work... Therapy goes hand in hand with medications for depression... If there is a request for you to go into a behavioral health facility... Go, agree, sign the papers yourself... Trust me its scary as hell at first but it will keep you safe and it isn't that bad... You will find you have people to talk to who understand... A relief to someone who is severely depressed and feels they are alone. You need help... and if your doctor isn't listening make someone listen! Oh, and I went to a hospital in crisis exactly 1 month prior to my last attempt... They suggested that "Sometimes people manifest symptoms"... So if one person doesn't listen tell someone else... Its your life you are saving here... Make someone listen... Best of luck... Please go for help...
