Combat PTSD and PTSD caused by other trauma, are they the same?
Question:
Answers:
They ARE the same thing. They are both stressful and hurtful. And some people are more sensitive to events, for eg. a person watching a car accident right in front of them could go through ptsd. I would think that if I were raped or sexually abused, that would be 100% more traumatizing than a car accident. But that person could have been truamatized anyway..Every person is different and anything could cause ptsd.
The disorder is the same and presents with the same symptoms ~ flashblacks, hyperviligance, etc, ~ but for vets they experience war-related themes, whereas for others, they experience abuse-related themes.
