From personal experience, you may be "despondent" which is not quite depressed but you still have that "depressed feeling", you say that you have that aching feeling a longing for someone, well I used to feel just like that but I had some good friends and many acquaintances, if you really have no friends, you may be farther down the road than I was.
I also felt that everyone else had things that I did not whether material/emotional/egotistical and did not deserve it. If you keep dwelling on negative things and only dwell on/pay attention to those I think you are definitely AT LEAST despondent if not depressed, but hey that's about all I can guess from your description.
No i dont think so...just lonely and insecure because of your isolation from the world...go out and socialise because theres always people out there like you ...
Let me tell you this, anyone that looks perfect is totally not. I suggest you going to a gym and try to get fit because looks are important towards confidence. Once you see results you will feel better about yourself and start being more "jittery" so you can make more friends. Working out is also proven to increase your metabolism, heart rate, and really gets you excited about life. Just try it and see.
Try to make friends. I was once like you and I am your age. Email me at: kellie_leann@hotmail.com; racing_girl174@hotmail.com; streetracing.chick@hotmail.com... kellie_ashby@yahoo.com
I just posted a similar question-- so don't feel completely alone. I know what you are going through and how horrible you feel. I can't talk to my family either-- they don't/ won't listen. And as far as friends go-- I have learned that when the going gets tough-- even the tough get going. Nobody wants to associate with someone who is suffering from depression-- that's why its called suffering I guess. I feel like I am too much to handle sometimes-- b/c that is how most people treat me. I know how desperatly you want to talk to someone and actually b understood. THat's how I feel at least. I know I too try to hide everything from those that do associate with me b/c I don't want to scare them off too-- so I put on the happy face and bam-- no one knows. I often want to cry-- and I do-- it is perfectly ok to cry and don't let any one tell you its not. However crying too much is definately a sign of depression. Do you have a teacher, a pastor, a 4-H advisor, some TRUSTED adult that you could talk to and confide in? If not, ask your doc if you could talk to him/ her or to a counselor. I know it sounds really scary but its not too bad and it does help some. You can also talk to me if you'd like. Good luck and best wishes to you.
Your not depressed medically but your probably lonely and disappointed that making friends isn't easier for you. Hopefully you will grow out of this soon. Try to be more outgoing and have fun. Making friends can be a fun time. Work on your personality, try to be a fun person to be with.
Hello gal , u r just 12 yrs old , this is not a time to worry abt yur image , u should focus on yur studies and just forget everything about yur weight , coz u'll have plenty of time to shed kilos later in life , coz life ain't easy so i would recommned you to be happy with wat u have got and try to make friends in school, play sports , have fun , learn to enjoy life at this age coz later u won't have time for that. Every one has their own problems so feel good about yur self . I know u r not depressed at all coz its yur nature that make u look quite n calm . Don't think wat other people are thinking abt u coz they r also afraid about wat u r thinking about them .
YES U R , BUT GET OVER IT TRUST UR SELF
It kind of sounds like mild depression, but not entirely. Talk to someone you trust about it. Go to a school counselor or a teacher that seems nice. Or you could email me if you'd feel comfortable. I'm 16.

Hey, I was once like you. once a older man told me if I wanted to be more popular was to simply make a little noise (ex:walk into the lunch room and as you walk past tables call out to 2 or 3 people kinda loud, Hey, Jimmy how ya doing or Hey Mary or Hey Linda love that purse. But do it with a big smile and a happy atmosphere about you. Do it often and always with a smile like your the happiest person in school. Soon everyone will holler back at you and you'll have lots of friends quick!!!! I do wish you the best of luck and lots of happiness... Always hold your head up high and never let anyone bring you down!!!
You may be depressed or you just may be upset read this and see if this helps any-if you like it I have plunty more of these kinds of things.
HE'S ALWAYS THERE
When you're feeling bad and your head is low
Lift up your spirit and know
That God has you in the palm of his hand
To give you strength, so you'll stand
When you think you've come to a dead-end
And the barrier that's blocking you won't bend
Know that God is all around you
And Kick that barrier down in the wind
When you know you just can't take anymore
And failure seems to be knocking at your door
Look to your front and back, to your left and right
And know that God will take care of this fight
When you think things are just impossible
And all you want to do is scream and shout
Know that all things are possible in Christ
And He is your way out
For He's Always There
