Answers:
A.D.D. is Attention Deficit Disorder. It encompasses all the things you just talked about. A.D.H.D. is Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It encompasses all the things you just talked about PLUS you CANNOT sit still to save your life. Even when you can manage to SIT you cannot be still. Fidgeting, bouncing your leg, etc, etc. I am ADHD and I take Adderal. I used to take Ritalin, but it didn't work very well for me so my doc switched me to Adderal which works very well.
I have also been this way for as long as I can remember and I am, well let's just say I'm not as young as I used to be.
the most commonly prescribed medication is retlin but just recently it has been known to have very adverse effects such as suicidal thoughts and heart problems my suggestion is don't take any med's i took medication for add and depression for years it made thing's a whole hell of alot worse and right now i'm just fine without any medication
ADD stands for Attention Deficit Disorder. ADHD stands for Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder.

So, do you just have trouble paying attention?, or are you also bouncing off the walls while having trouble paying attention?

I don't know about what dugs are used to treat.
Clinically speaking it is written AD/HD. Diagnostically there is only Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, however it is broken into three categories: inattentive type, hyperactive type, and combined type. There is no longer ADD, but is now AD/HD, inattentive type.
it seems like you may have ADD/ADHD. I have ADHD and wasn't diagnosed until college. Like you, I had problems focusing, was the class clown, couldn't sit still, problems remembering where I put my keys or if I paid my bills. I cut people off also and have one million thoughts at once. It wasn't until I got tested and started on medication that I could truly focus. The testing is nothing to be worried about.it's test your impulsivity and attention span. I flunked them all but since I have been taking medicaiton it is like I got glasses. I cna sit down and read a book from front to back w/o getting distracted. The only bad thing about the medication is that there are higs and lows and sometimes I feel like themedicaiton effects my mood. But it's better than nothing.
I was diagnosed with ADD a couple of years ago and have been taking Adderall, an amphetamine. But have tried others as well.
