An indoor tan?! In a bedroom?! Is this ridiculous?

Question: This is for my friend, i know for one that he opens all his windows on a sunny day, and just lies down on the floor in the sun. In his bedroom. Is it really true that you can get a good tan like this?

yeah, if you get the UV radiation from the sun - strongest between 11-1, then you can get a tan. i guess his window is big enough? all that matters is that the rays hit his skin - not where he is. it's just unusual that the sun can hit his skin sufficiently though a window... since the sun changes position over the course of the day and windows are only in 1 spot ( well unless he has a lot )
