Any good SHOULDER exercises or stretches?

Question:
I think I strained or pulled my shoulder

Answers:
If you are still to sore to do much you may want to let it heal a few days. But when feeling better you can start out with a some
shoulder rolls , forward & backward .slowly . Progress to the
straight arm lifts always slowly each direction , you will always find it more difficult when done slowly.more intense. When you feel ready add wieghts 2 or 5 LB..a bag of beans works fine and if not in your cabinet cost $1 and can be cooked later..
The door jam makes a good place to do stretches as well you stand close to it ,reach out at differant levels of height and grasp it , then slowly lean into it, do about 8-10 reps and change levels to repeat. Also theres the stick or pole excercise holding the stick across the chest straight armed and while Lying on a bed ,
stretch it overhead , after a few of these whitch ever shoulder is sore use that one to lead and go that arm first out to the side.
If not feeling better in a week of trying you may of done more than stretched a muscle you may need a Dr.for a tear.
Hope this helps .Lord knows I've been there, I had a roter cuff repair on each shoulder.Good Luck ,Be better soon ~

It really depends on the location on the shoulder where the pain is.

Is it the muscle covering you shoulder joint? (Deltoids) or is it the part of your shoulder between the joint and neck? (Trapezius) Or.does it feel a little deeper in the joint.that could be your rotator cuff which could be serious.

What were you doing when you strained or pulled the muscle? There are good stretches for all of those muscles, but I don't know which to suggest without knowing the exact location of your discomfort.
depends what muscle you strained. Try some very lightweight dumbbells, hold both arms straight out from the sides of your body and make circular motions. Also try holding the weights like normal and shrugging your shoulders. Light weights and lots of stretching are best for pulled muscles.
You need to icy hot that stat.

Look on line. The best any exercises I found were in women's health (men's health for your obviously) and Weight Training For Dummies. For real, pictures and very detailed instructions..
