My son is 18 years, his hair is thinning (the falling has stopped); he is depressed.?

Question:

This is the answer I use for all Male going bald questions because I take it seriously, it's no joke to lose your hair!

I've got a full head of hair now, but was voted most likely to go bald in my high school yearbook. I have more hair than all of my male high school friends - it's really amazing. I started taking vitamins at 18 and haven't stopped since. Lots of different vitamins everyday, EVERYDAY. It is true that you can stop the loss and regrow - I did! And don't buy that crap advertised on radio, just regular vitamins from Wal-Mart, Cosco or Sam's Club. I also use Pantene shampoo and conditioner, every day. Seriously, good luck, bald may be beautiful, but on another guy, not you!

Other Answers:
Why's he depressed? Cheer him up. Do something with him. Get him out of the house. Take him places. Do things that make him happy.

Depression is serious. You should have someone talk to him.
Was he depressed or stressed when it started falling out? Depression is so hard to deal with.If hes depressed about his hair tell him we all have things that make us unique.I wouldnt want it any other way.Im 35 and I like bald guys, it dont matter to me.
Have him go cool and get a buzz bald cut. The bonus is the number of girls he will attract. Ever take note of Andre Agassi's sex appeal?
bald is in!!! tell him to shave it and enjoy his life. Hair is over rated any way
i still think finding the root of the problem is most important before one applies any actions. communication is the first key to open the door to understanding.
I started losing my hair when I was 16. By the time I was 30, I had classic "male-pattern alopecia"... meaning bald with the fringe of hair. *sigh* It used to depress me until I learned it was an excess of testosterone that caused it (among other factors). Tell your son it doesn't really matter in the long run. People are going to like him for what's INSIDE his head, not outside. And if someone is more concerned with the outside, maybe that's not someone he needs to be concerned about. The women I've dated (and there have been many) were either indifferent to my shiny head or attracted to it. So tell him to relax: There are many-times-many things worse than being bald ... like deaf, blind, speechless or stupid.
