Answers:
Please see a doctor, Colchicine is a very hard medicine, I used to use it for my gout for years then I was introduced by my doctor to the NSAID like Naproxin then a uric acid lowering drug on daily basis. For the last year, I have not got one attack thanks to God. Also eat a lot of cherries, it worked for me.

Other Answers:
You should not be self medicating. You need to talk to your doctor.
Follow the directions on the label of the medication given by your doctor and take the medication to lower uric acid between attacks.
For this disease better you consult the doctor and take the treatment regularly as advised by the doctor.Since ,if this disease, become chronic, pain and stiffness persis ts with irregular swelling. There will be associated conditions like urolithiasis ,nephropathy hyper uricemia etc.So better take the medicine under Medical supervision.
