I'm trying to gain weight (fast metabolism)! Should my calories s day average more then my body weight?
Question:

To gain weight, your calories "in" need to be more than your calories "out"- meaning you have to eat more calories than you burn. You can calculate approximately how many calories you burn per day using one of the many calories-burned calculators on the 'net. If you're a kid or a teenager, make sure you use one designed for young people, since you need a lot more calories when you're still growing. In general to gain weight, you should aim to eat 500 more calories a day than you burn, which makes for a gain of approximately 1-2 pounds per week. I would also suggest finding out what your BMI (body mass index) is, to see if your weight is healthy for your height. You can also find out what a healthy weight for your height is using the Ideal Body Weight calulator. Remember there's not one ideal weight or body size - everybody's different.

Well muscle weighs more than anything so if you want to gain weight, eat more protein before you work out. Choose meats and eggs and pasta's. You dont have to eat high fat foods or over eat. Just eat the right things when you do eat. Good luck!
Calories for weight gain should equal body weight in grams. Typicall 10,000 to 20,000 Cals a day with lots of red meat and starchs
Protein is the key Whey Protein that is I take it after every workout I had the same prob as you 5days a week I worked out till someone told me to take a day in between workouts and use whey protein and createne the day of gives the muscles proper time to heal then you rip them again and i guarantee youll see better weight gain I was 160 defined well no weight started this now i'm 183 bigger still cut up
Eating before a work out could help because it make the body store away more of what it is taking in; opposite of eating after a work out where you'll process more of the food and eliminate what you don't need.
But you should have your thyroid checked if you can't keep weight on.
