after taking viagra a man has to wait at least 30-45 minutes for the drug to take hold. you don't automatically obtain an erection. stimulation of the penis is required. then the erection is readily achieved. after ejaculation, the erection (from experience) usually lasts 10-15 more minutes and then gradually subsides.
an erection lasting 4 hours after arousal should be indicative of the need for immediate medical attention as the longer the erection lasts, the greater the chance of doing nerve damage to the organ.

apparently it takes a while for your little man to stand up so you're meant to pop one before you have a meal or something... dunno how long it lasts afterwards but i reckojn you've got a good few hours..
