What causes Piles?

Question:
What Causes Pile? How are they treated? Do they get better without medical intervention

Answers:
Piles are the old terminology for hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids are part of normal anatomy, but in some people become enlarged, can bleed, and can be painful. Most people will improve with a high fiber diet, stool softner, and warm baths. Some people however, think they have hemorrhoids and have different conditions, some of which can be serious (including cancer). If your condition doesn't improve in a few days it is best to see a colon and rectal surgeon who specializes in this field to evaluate you further and confirm your diagnosis. I warn that many physicians have only limited training in this field, so vhoose a specialist.
