Severe cramping in toes, leg, fingers, etc...?

Question:
I quit drinkin 5 days ago. 28 years I've been drinkin and dehydrating myself over & over. Lately I've been eating good & hydrating....doesn't seem to help ! could this be arthritis setting in ? I'm 40 years of age. Do you think its due to poor circulation or lack of oxygen ? I've been consuming an average amount of potassium lately...do you think I should just give it more time ? thanx.

Answers:
Typically, cramps result in a deficiency in Sodium, Magnesium, Calcium and Potassium. Normally when people get cramps they immediately stock up on bananas which are ful of potassium, take vitamins, drink more milk-- those are all great in aiding cramps. You may also want to try salting your foods just a bit more. Be careful not to over-induldge in it.

Also, this could be your bodies way of reacting to the lack of alcohol that you are accustomed to consuming.

However, if this problem persists longer than a week or two after a change in your dietary intake then I would schedule an appointment with your doctor or a nutritionist and explain your situation.

Hope everything turns out okay :)
