IF you are talking about lifting weight it all depends on what you want, if you want to be more defined or as they say cut then use low weight and high reps. Or if you are trying to gain bulk then using high weight and only a few reps, also if your trying to put on weight a supplement like mega mass 3000 is a good one to use when working out.
Depends on what you want to achieve - weight training, or endurance or just plain physical fitness.
