My Husband asked me to stop taking any type of BC pills as my interest for sex down. So, what alternative methods we can use to prevent pregnancy (as we don't want a baby for 3-4 years). Please help.

I would talk to him and the doctor about options that will prevent pregnancy without harming your sex drive, but ultimately it will come down to what you two agree on. If you can't agree on anything, remember that it is YOUR body...

Research all the facts yourself before talking to the doctor, though. An IUD is effective with little to no hormones, but it is an abortive device, so if you would rather get pregnant before 3-4 years than kill a baby, these are not for you. Diaphragms are only as effective as condoms, but that is an option too (as are the condoms).

Another thing to consider is that maybe the sex issue is not really because of the birth control. Are you stressed, depressed, worried, annoyed with his habits...? Any "environmental" factors to consider? I went through a spell for about three months where I never wanted it. He was unemployed, so I was partly mad that he had quit his job without having another lined up, scared because he couldn't find another one, depressed that we were getting further and further behind, and annoyed that while he wasn't bringing in any money, he was still buying cigarettes and smoking... I wasn't on BC, I was just too emotionally occupied to even think about it...

Anyway, there are other options. Only your doctor can tell you which will work best for you, and you should talk to your doctor before just stopping taking the pills. Hope you find something! Good luck!
