hey folks do u think men with genital warts can reproduce healthy children?

Question:
i have a friend with genital warts and he is a bit worried can he still give his wife children?

Answers:
Yes, he will be able to reproduce assuming he has a normal sperm count and his wife is fertile. However, having unprotected sex with his wife will expose her to the virus that causes genital warts. This can occur even if he takes medication to prevent/reduce the outbreaks. Most likely he has already exposed her to the virus, so this is of little concern. However, she should know that she is now at an increased risk of developing cerivcal cancer. She needs to make sure that she is getting her yearly Pap screen.

Other Answers:
warts are not inherited

yes he can have healthy children but if he gives his wife genital warts they will give her special medication during the last couple weeks of pregnancy to ensure the child doesnt get the warts because it can cause blindness in newborns. Yes, it just is passed on to the mother. The mother can possibly pass it on to the children. The children can still be healthy though. Just rule out other STDs.they should be much more concerning. Things like Hepatitis B. This is much worse and fairly common.

HPV = genital warts
HBV = hep B
