I am to have a special physical exam for social security disability, i am 56 yrs. old. what do i expect?

Question:
i'm to have this physical exam because the medical records they have reviewed is not sufficient enough. so just wanted to know what to expect?

Answers:
If it's for a physical disability you are normally asked to undergo a range of motion exercises. Remember they need to know what you are like on a bad day, so don't try really hard, show them your normal capabilities.

Feel free to take someone with you. And if possible review what you put on the claim form before going. If you didn't keep a copy (which I would advise you always do), then ask to be sent a copy of your claim form before going.

Hope it goes OK, and good luck with the claim.
I am sure they will check your BP, weight, height, possibly cholesterol, reflexes, breathing. Oh and you should probably be prepared to "turn your head to the right and cough."
I would imagine you'll get a full out physical including a rectal exam.
not only can u expect a complete physical but a mental exam will also be done and will probably have a larger bearing on the over all outcome, dont say u cant handle your own money for instance but be honest about depression and hoiw being disable makes you feel, if you have thought of suicide let them know burt that you would not hurt yourself. questions like this will determine alot on your ssi
they will give you a complete rectal exam which you will enjoy a great deal.
