I lived with a man for 4 years. He became very ill and was admitted to Intensive Care Unit.?

Question:
He was there 6 weeks. Now, he is in a rehabilitation center. Meanwhile, his daughter and her family came into our apartment (while I was not there) and moved everything out the apartment (this was with manager approval). I arrived home and seen everything out on the lawn. Also, my name was not on the lease but I lived there the same amount of time tenant did. Was this a legal act? Daughter is trying to stop me from visiting father. Can she do this and must facility follow this order. When father was okay-family never came to check on him nor went to any doctor appointments. Since this has occurred, daughter is acting like she was there for her father. Before father became unresponsive he told nurse he wanted me to speak for him but the daughter became the advance directive. His decision was not in writing but he told the nurse in ICU and she told me and his daughter. The following day I was told the daughter will be the main contact because I'm not the next of kin.

Answers:
You lived with him but you didn't legally marry him, unless you have common law marriage in your state. If you live in Texas, you might have a legal claim, otherwise, you're probably out of luck. . If she's trying to barr you visiting him in rehab, perhaps you could have the rehab unit contact the ICU nurse he spoke with before he became unresponsive. Whether the family had anything to do with him, etc., is not at issue here, unless you make it one. Focus on your love, on your man, not on his daughter. He's in rehab, not burried, and he's what's important, nothing else. Let those thoughts fill your heart right now. I wish you the very best. Good luck.
You have not rights legally, that's not it not a good idea to live together, had you been married you would have had rights.Judge Judy says it all the time.
