How do I get great pecs?

Question:
I have larger than average arms. 16-17 inches in circumference, but my chest is lacking severly. I do pushups and a few sets on the bench press. I'm able to lift a lot (maxed out at 285 once), but I lack in stamina. Also, when I bench press 135 lbs, I'm shaking even though it's a suitable weight! Any idea's on what I should do, or if I'm doing something wrong? I'll tell you though that after my bench workout, my triceps feel like they did the most work (and it shows). Please help. Thank you.

Answers:
Try adjusting the width of your bench grip. If your grip is too narrow (like shoulder width or less apart) then you're going to be relying on your triceps a lot to do the lift. Spread your grip and you should feel more of the weight on your chest.

Same thing goes for push-ups. Also try doing some chest exercises using cross cables. Search the net for info on those exercises. Personally, I really like using cross cables. Really helps work the entire chest.

Other Answers:
hire a physical trainer for a day.your local college is the cheapest way to find an inexpensive one to give you the best exercises for each area you want to improve on
You are lacking in stamina, work on isometrics to increase stamina, although it wont increase strength.

have you ever considered genetics, since your arms are big, maybe you just have naturally small chests.

try new excercises. try HIT training, maybe your weights are too light.

Isolate you chest. if you want pecs, your triceps shouldnt do all the training. you are doing an excessively compound excercise. most people gain a lot to the pecs with bench presses though, since its not working for you, variate, and isolate
