Why are my feet always sweating at work when I wear black dress socks?

Question:
I feel the need to constantly take off my dress shoes at work after 2-3 hours of being in the office. I dont know what to do. I have bought new dress socks and new dress shoes, however, my feet are always sweating and makes me feel uncomfortable during work. Please help me folks!

Answers:
Find a different dress sock. The thin dress socks are causing your problem because they are not wicking the moisture away from your skin. Some people in the military wear white socks under their dress socks. There is also a sock that has a normal athletic sole with a dress upper if you can find them.

Other Answers:
black socks are usually a lot thicker and hold in heat which are causing your feet to sweat. If I was you I would probably try to find a nice pair of black socks that are very thin. Air should be able to get through better.
Your feet are sweating because those dress socks you speak of dont "breathe". they are usually made of some non-organic material like rayon. So here is what you do..goget yourself some good old comfy athletic socks and wear them under your dresssocks OR find cotton black socks..good luck to you there.
BLACK SOCKS TEND TO BLOCK LIGHT AND AIR WAVES MORE THAN OTHER SOCKS. TRY SPRAYING SOME DESENEX FOOT SPRAY ON YOUR FEET BEFORE LEAVING THE HOUSE, TAKE IT WITH YOU AND USE IT AT WORK IF NEED BE. THERE ARE MANY OTHER BRANDS YOU CAN BUY ALSO.
My feet used to sweat a lot and smell bad occasionally. I tried foot sprays and creams for athlete's foot etc. On a whim, I started using a generic gold bond powder from Wal-Mart (one third of the price). My feet are always dry and never stink. squirt some into each sock before putting them on. Kills athletes foot better than medication, because its easier the follow the routine and rid the feet of moisture which fungus requires. Give it a try!
