this article has some great tips on weight gain and body building that will tell you more
I was reading some new research by menshealth that a new study found that 10 minutes after the workout would do the most but the hour rule still helps plenty
I don't know what the official time is, but personally i find taking it a half hour before your workout helps your body begin the repair and improvement process as soon as possible. It also helps your muscles get enough fuel during said workout to aviod negative side effects. Listen to your body though, its different for every person. You are the best judge, experiment different times!
ideal is to make a protein shake.. drink half before.. and half after.. immediately after is a good time..
Before you decide to injest all this protein check with someone and find out how much protein your body needs according to your wt, age etc..Get carbed up for energy before you work-out, eat egg whites for breakfast and a piece of fruit, like an apple, (you have your carbs and protein) when you get done with your work-out, drink a good protein drink immed. afterwards. then before you go to bed have another protein drink, your body repairs itself at rest. Eat good protein (foods) during the day like Chicken, Tuna straight from the can is great protein. Grape juice is one of the highest in the glycemic index, which is what you need, but if your a diabetic check with your doctor on that also
