The problem with low carb diets is that people tend to gravitate toward high protein foods like meat. There is nothing wrong with that, except that protein has a high satiating factor. This causes you to eat less food than you normally do.

While this may sound like a good thing, its not. Whenever you eat less food, your body's BMR shifts into low gear and the net result is that you don't lose any weight.

What you need to do is to make sure that you eat lots of low carb food and not necessarilly protein. Skipping meals is tempting because you aren't hungry, but its bad for the diet. You should also exercise.

Eat lots of low carb, high fiber vegetables like brocholli as well as meat.

Some people do get sick during the transition from sugar burning to fat burning. That is actually a good thing.
