this scares the crap out of me, as my father was put on cumadin last week... his blood level (thickness? i'm a novice i admit) was at a 1 and they wanted it at a 2 before they'd let him out of the hospital... well all was fine on friday, but by monday he was at a 5!! he's also diabetic. cumadin is nasty, scary crap...

I am sorry for your loss and grief. When a person is on coumadin, it is important that they have regular check ups at the doctor. The doctor performs a blood test that checks the coumadin level. And then the doctor can adjust the level accordingly. By either increasing dosage amount or taking away some of the dosage.
