How do you get in the mental state to start working out?

Question:
I really want to start taking better care of my body. I used to workout religiously a few years ago. My confidence level was at it's highest. I abstained from drinking, fried foods, sweets, smoking. I am 27 years of age, 25 lbs. overweight and I really would like to get back to that physical form in which I was proud of. For those that have been in my shoes before, what would you suggest?

Answers:
I was a personal trainer and fitness model for 7 years, when I was age 20- 27. I worked at the gym so it was easy to work out, I was there already. After I found out I was pregnant I had complications which caused me to be put on bed rest and no working out. Since then I have had several failed pregnancies. My body never seemed to recover from it. I too am about 25-30 heavier than before. I also am 5 weeks pregnant, and can't exercise. As for my suggestion to you, It is a mental state you are right, you have to want it, and want it bad. I can pull out my Miss Hawaiian Tropic pics from Hawaii and it works every time, if you have some old pics from your "hott" days(lol) get them out and compare them to your current pics, that should do the trick, good luck I totally understand where you are coming from

Buy a bicycle.
Ride it to work and save money on petrol/fares.
See those lbs melt away!! I feel you, I have workout equipment in my basement that until a month ago collected dust and clothes.
So here's what I did

1. STOP SAYING TOMORROW
tomorrow never comes
2. DON'T COME IN FROM WORK/SCHOOL AND TURN ON TV
it's hard to get up from the idiot box when you get comfortable
3. STOP KNOCKING YOURSELF DOWN
it is never to late to get started, and right this second is as
good as any.
4. TAKE SMALL STEPS, THAT BUILD TO BIGGER ONES
don't try and get back into shape in one day, and don't get
disappointed if you don't see results for a couple of weeks
5. ONCE YOU START MAKE IT A HABIT
the hardest part is starting, the fun is in the result!

My downfall is sweets, so I started taking the green tea pills w/chromium which suppresses the carb/glucose cravings along with my workout (I'm only at 15 mins. a day) I'm starting to feel so much better!
Good luck to you my friend, now get moving!
