I stick to 20 grams per day. It worked for me.

Basically anything not candy or junk is okay to eat, the body digests fastest after a workout.
If you are trying to build muscle try 1/2g for every pound you weigh. i.e. if you weigh 200lbs. eat 100g of carbs. These other guys just think your dieting, so dont listen to them. Try to get a few of those grams from fruit, or maybe apple juice.
