Can you gain muscle mass from swimming??
Question:
Answers:
Definitely. In fact, swimming is the best way to rid your torso of fat and build up muscle there. I would say you would do about 20 to 30 minutes of strong swimming every day or every other day (since everyone has a different pace with swimming).
Other Answers:
absolutely
Yes sir
yes you can. it's a form of exercise and all exercise builds muscle. don't know how many laps.
actually it will do more to tone your muscles. They will naturally develop somewhat if you swim everyday. Not sure about a 35ft pool. I would have to say anywhere around 25-50 is a good healthy start. Swimming is one of the best exercises for your body. no major-stress on the body and great cardio-vascular workout.
How much muscle mass you gain is relative to how much you work them. Its different per person. If you work out alot, pool or no, youll still gain mass depending on which and how many different muscle groups you work.
no. too long an exercise but good.
gain muscle mass by weight lifting or any short excise with heavy load. eat carbs before, protein after.
Yes, and lose fat at the same time-- its not about laps, its about slow pace and endurance-- roughly 30 -45 mins. great exercise
Yes, but you have to do cardio and weight training to increase or improve. The number of laps is determined by you ability to do them. If you can only do two or three you've got some work to do.
Yes, sure why not, it is excersize
NO it will ONLY tone your muscles , don't listen to them. You gain muscle by weight lifting.
you will loose your fat for sure and you will gain body shape to gain muscles you need to go to a gym and do wieght training and get a protein diet for muslce mass.
Combing both will do you great good as you wil maintain shape and keep the mass on it ..
Grt luck.
heck yes you can..:-)
Yes...
Swimming is just about the one perfect excercise.
Start out with just one or two laps in a pool, and increase it by about 1/2 a lap per day..
Don't go until you are tired.. 98 % of all people that drown, drown on top of the water.
Just take it slow and easy.
To increase your lung capacity, try swimming the complete length of the pool under water..
A Snicker's candy bar us a quick energy for a good start.
In about 4 months, you should be up to about 40 laps.
Enrod has the right idea. You would get toned, muscles would get tighter, and you would lose fat, but you wouldnt gain very much muscle mass, even if you swam a million laps. You gain muscle by lifting heavy weight and getting a lot of protein and carbs.
